Reaction Roles
Let your members self-assign roles by reacting to messages. Perfect for color roles, notification opt-ins, game roles, and more.
How It Works
- Create reaction role mappings in the Dashboard.
- Attach them to an embed using the Embed Builder.
- Users click the reaction emoji on the message to receive (or remove) the associated role.
Configuration
To set up reaction roles, go to Dashboard → Settings → General. In the Reaction Roles section, you can create up to 15 emoji-to-role mappings.
Each mapping consists of:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Embed ID | A number (0–255) that groups reaction roles together. All mappings with the same Embed ID will be attached to the same embed. |
| Emoji | The emoji users will react with. Supports both Unicode emojis (e.g., 🎮) and custom Discord emojis. |
| Role | The role that will be assigned/removed when the emoji is clicked. |
Attaching to an Embed
- Set up your reaction role mappings in Settings → General.
- Go to the Embed Builder on the Dashboard.
- Create or edit an embed in the desired channel.
- In the embed's Reaction Roles field, enter the Embed ID that matches your mappings.
- Send the embed — reactions will be added automatically.
Example
To create a color role selector:
- In Settings → General → Reaction Roles, add:
- Embed ID:
1, Emoji: 🔴, Role: @Red - Embed ID:
1, Emoji: 🔵, Role: @Blue - Embed ID:
1, Emoji: 🟢, Role: @Green
- Embed ID:
- In the Embed Builder, create an embed with the text "Choose your color!" and set Reaction Roles to
1. - Send the embed. Users can now click the color emojis to get their role.
Tips
- Make sure the bot's role is positioned above the roles it needs to assign.
- Use descriptive embed text so users know what each emoji does.
- You can have multiple groups of reaction roles by using different Embed IDs.
